South Granville Real Estate – Homes & Condos For Sale

South Granville is also known as Uptown. It begins on the southern end of the Granville Street Bridge, which connects to Granville Island, a shopper’s heaven, and then to downtown Vancouver on the other side of False Creek.  Continuing until 16th Avenue, this neighborhood is a collection of boutique shops, trendy cafes and popular pubs.

This is also the home of the vintage Stanley Theatre. In 2007 South Granville celebrated its centennial by placing a time capsule under the entrance to that historic venue. Built in 1931, the theatre is now home to the Arts Club Theatre Company, offering live plays, musicals and revues. Visual artists also flock to this area, drawn by the many art galleries in “Gallery Row.”

As you near 16th Avenue, residences start appearing, most of them in neighboring Shaughnessy. Other neighborhoods that border South Granville are Fairview and Kitsilano. Vanier Park, which offers trails fronting False Creek and English Bay, and Hadden Park offer a chance to get out and enjoy the sun.  Granville Street is one of the main bus routes from the southern end of Vancouver into the downtown core.
