Downtown Real Estate – Homes & Condos For Sale

Downtown Vancouver is a blend of a modern business district and residential areas filled with high rise apartments and condos. The Burrard Inlet is the northern border, False Creek brings up the south, and to the east is the Downtown Eastside. West of the city is iconic Stanley Park and the posh, trendy West End.

Neighbourhoods in the downtown area include Chinatown, Japantown, Gastown which is one of the oldest parts of the city, the Entertainment District and Granville Mall. The latter is actually an island, connected to the mainland by the Granville Bridge. Known for its trendy shops and markets, it is sometimes considered one big mall.

There are three more bridges connecting downtown Vancouver with the rest of the region, including the Cambie Street Bridge, Burrard Street Bridge and the Lions Gate Bridge which leads to the north shore. Waterfront Station is the transportation hub for downtown. The Canada Line, Millennium Line and the Expo Line all stop here. The SeaBus is a water taxi that operates out of Canada Place and provides access to the north shore. Canada Place is also a major cruise ship terminal.

Rogers Arena in the downtown core is home to the NHL Vancouver Canucks. Next door is BC Place Stadium which hosts the Vancouver Whitecaps, part of the NASL soccer league, as well as the BC Lions Canadian Football League.
